xMod

The ultimate panel of hidden preferences for Apple's Mac OSX 10.5, Leopard.

What does xMod do, exactly?

In Apple's operating system, Leopard, there are many settings that Apple included that are not shown in the normal preferences. After quite a bit of investigation and testing, Geek Peak Software has found nearly all of these hidden settings, and built them into a handy application: xMod.

Apart from changing hidden settings, xMod also provides an easy way to run certain maintenence scripts, repair permissions, and check for iminent harddrive failures. It can even start a screen saver as your desktop background!

Why is it called "xMod"?

Well, Mod is short for Modify. xMod modifies hidden settings in Leopard. Why the x? 'Cause it sounds cool.
